PolyGuard is the single most effective medication to keep freshwater fish free of disease! It is an effective treatment and safeguard against all prevalent bacterial, fungal, and parasitic diseases of exotic fish. For use in freshwater or marine aquaria.

When our pets are sick, we immediately want to reach for the most powerful medication on the shelf. However, sometimes the right choice to prevent stress is to opt for a gentler medication at first, especially with less severe infections. PolyGuard is among Seachem’s strongest medications, and is best used when you are unsure what disease you are treating or when the fish is suffering from multiple infections.

PolyGuard is appropriate for treating a variety of bacterial, fungal, and parasitic diseases of exotic fish. Below are some of the more common diseases treatable with PolyGuard. Be aware that many diseases and infections share similar physical and behavioral symptoms, e.g. clamped fins, lesions, loss of appetite.

Compatibility

What it is. Seachem’s own description: the single most effective medication to keep freshwater fish free of disease, an effective treatment against prevalent bacterial, fungal and parasitic diseases, for use in freshwater or marine aquaria.

Where this sits in the Seachem range. PolyGuard is among Seachem’s strongest medications and is the one to reach for when the exact disease is uncertain or when a fish is suffering from more than one infection at once. ParaGuard, by contrast, is the narrower ectoparasite-focused treatment.

Before treating. Remove all invertebrates, which Seachem describes as extremely sensitive to medication, and disable UV filters, ozone filters and chemical filtration such as MatrixCarbon or Purigen.

Composition & Analysis

Active ingredients, per Seachem. Sulfathiazole (36%), malachite green (1.9%), nitrofurantoin (0.14%), nitrofural (0.14%) and quinacrine dihydrochloride (0.27%), with the remaining 61% inactive excipients.

Dosage & Directions

Seachem’s own dose. Use 1 level measure (included) for every 40 L (10 US gallons), repeated every 3 days for up to 2 weeks.

After treatment. Run activated carbon once the course is complete to lift residual medication, and resume normal water-change routine, dosing PolyGuard again after the water change if the course is still running.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
