Compatibility

Freshwater and marine. The impeller shaft is a corrosion-resistant metal chosen to survive salt water.

Allow 7 cm of clearance behind the aquarium for the filter body. The Tidal 35 does not have the heater holder or telescoping intake of the larger models.

Setup & Use

The pump is self-priming: there is no need to fill the basket or start a siphon by hand, and it restarts on its own after a power cut.

Hang the unit on the rim, fit the intake, plug it in. The impeller is self-cleaning and the cover is reversible so the outflow can face either way.

Rinse the foam in old tank water rather than under the tap, and replace it only when it falls apart — the bacteria living in it are the filter, and washing them down the sink is the usual cause of a cycle crash after a clean.

Safety & Precautions

Run the filter only when it is fully submerged at the intake — running it dry will destroy the impeller.

Unplug it at the mains before putting your hands in the tank or opening the unit. Leave a drip loop in the cable so water running down the flex drips off before it reaches the socket.

Warranty & Support

Seachem guarantees Tidal filters against defects of materials and workmanship for 3 years from the date of purchase, extendable to 5 years by registering the filter. The pump impeller is excluded.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first — most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
