Type: replacement carbon cartridge for the Sicce CO2 Life 2 electronic CO2 system

How it works: the cartridge releases carbon dioxide by electrolysis, continuously and at a rate you set on the unit — there is no gas cylinder and no external support anywhere in the system

Service life: 2 to 4 months, depending on the aquarium and the release rate set

Fits: Sicce CO2 Life 2, which Sicce rate for aquariums up to 75 US gallons. The CO2 Life 1 is the smaller unit, rated to 40 US gallons, and takes its own cartridge

Water type: freshwater planted aquariums

Setup & Use

This is the replacement carbon cartridge for the Sicce CO2 Life 2. Sicce's own replacement procedure:

Lift the CO2 Life unit vertically out of the water. Lift off the transparent cover. Lift out the regulator. Turn the carbon cartridge support anti-clockwise, take it away, and fit the new cartridge. Reassemble in reverse order.

Replace it every two to four months, depending on how hard the tank works it. The rate is adjustable on the unit, so a system turned up will get through cartridges faster.

Because the CO2 comes off the cartridge steadily by electrolysis rather than out of a pressurised cylinder, the release is continuous and the pH does not swing the way a badly regulated bottle makes it swing.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months' remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Filter media and substrates carry no manufacturing or expiry date — their working life begins on first contact with water, not on the shelf.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
