The high level of biological activity in intact coral reefs means that high concentrations of biopolymer substances are found there. Contact with nutrient particles and settlement with specialized bacteria results in the formation of particles with a high nutrient content, which are also visible to the naked eye. These particles vary in form from flakes to threads and are referred to as reef snow. Tropic Marin PRO-CORAL REEF SNOW contains these natural biopolymers of the sea. Together with other feedstuffs they form nutrient-rich flakes similar to natural reef snow, transporting these to the corals and other filter feeders. The concentration of a PRO-CORAL REEF SNOW solution can be varied in order to adapt the size of the flakes individually to the filter feeders contained in the tank.

These are the natural marine biopolymers that, on a live reef, collect nutrient particles and bacteria into the visible flakes and filaments called reef snow.

Reef Snow is a binder, not a feed on its own. It carries very little nutritional value by itself; what it does is take whatever you already feed and form it into nutrient-rich flakes that filter feeders can actually catch. Buy it to go with a food, not instead of one.

Feeding Guide

Making the stock solution: stir approximately 1.5 measuring spoons of Reef Snow into 100 ml of reverse osmosis water and leave it to soak for one to two hours, stirring occasionally.

Adding the food: stir the feed or plankton substitute into the soaked solution and leave it a further 30 minutes before dispersing the mixture through the aquarium.

• Flake size is adjustable: vary the dose between 1 and 2 measuring spoons per 100 ml to make the particles smaller or larger, matched to the filter feeders you keep.
• Keeping it: a prepared stock solution with no feed in it yet can be stored for two weeks at room temperature.
• What to bind: Tropic Marin recommend pairing it with their plankton substitutes Phyton and Zooton.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months' remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
