How to use the product

Premium Fertiliser is added every week when changing the water. The pump bottle dispenses 2 mL per push. We recommend 6 mL (3 pumps per 50 L water per week), but recommend that this is set in accordance with plant requirements. For example, pale leaves often indicate lack of nutrition, but can also be due to poor growth. Echinodorus bleheri is a typical example of lack of micro-nutrients. Regular dosing with Premium Fertiliser can restore green and luxuriant leaves. Note, however, that Premium Fertiliser is a fertiliser and not a medicine for dying plants.

It is recommended that minimum 25% of the aquarium water is changed every second week. If undesirable algae growth does occur, then we recommend increasing water change frequency (up to 50%) and planting additional rapid growth waterplants such as Hygrophila, Vallisneria and Egeria.

Compatibility

Freshwater planted aquariums with many fish and few or slow-growing plants. That is Tropica’s own description of who this is for, and the reasoning behind it is the whole point of the product.

What it deliberately leaves out: nitrogen and phosphorus. A tank with a decent fish load already generates both, continuously, from food and waste. Adding more would simply feed algae. Premium supplies everything else the plants need and nothing they are already getting.

What it contains. Iron, magnesium and the vital micro-nutrients. Tropica’s declaration, W/W%:

Premium or Specialised? The two are the same fertiliser except for the macro-nutrients. Choose Premium where the fish outnumber the plants, or the plants are slow growers — Anubias, Java fern, Cryptocoryne, a lightly planted community tank. Choose Specialised where the tank is heavily planted with fast growers and the plants are consuming nitrate and phosphate faster than the fish produce it. If your nitrate reads near zero in a densely planted tank, that is the signal to move to Specialised.

What it will not do. Tropica put this plainly: it is a fertiliser, not a medicine for dying plants. Pale leaves often mean a nutrient shortage, but they can equally mean poor growth from too little light or CO₂, and no fertiliser fixes that. Echinodorus bleheri is the plant Tropica name as the one that typically shows a micro-nutrient shortage first.

Water changes are part of the method. Tropica recommend changing at least 25% of the water every second week. If unwanted algae appear, increase the change frequency — up to 50% — and plant more fast growers such as Hygrophila, Vallisneria and Egeria, which compete with the algae for nutrients.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
