If the aquarium tests positive for ammonia, act quickly by doing a partial water change and then neutralize the ammonia. Ammonia is toxic to fish cells, especially the gills. AMMO LOCK is a liquid treatment proven to protect fish cells from ammonia. AMMO LOCK works instantly, in both fresh and saltwater aquariums, to detoxify ammonia and remove chlorine and chloramines. AMMO LOCK locks up ammonia in a non-toxic form until it can be broken down by the tank’s natural biological filter. Eliminates fish stress and promotes healthy gill function.

Dosage & Directions

Dose: use the dosing cap on the bottle. API’s label rate is
5 ml per 10 US gallons (38 litres) of aquarium water, which
works out at roughly 13 ml per 100 litres.

Interval: add every two days until ammonia
is no longer detected. If ammonia is still present after seven days, API’s
instruction is to stop reaching for the bottle and fix the cause: do a partial
water change, service the filter, and cut back on feeding.

If the tank is already testing positive: API’s order of
operations is a partial water change first, then dose. They also recommend a
25% water change after dosing regardless.

On tap water: AMMO-LOCK removes chlorine and chloramines as
well as detoxifying ammonia, so it does the dechlorinator’s job on
water-change water. It works in both fresh and salt water.

What it actually does: it does not remove ammonia. It
converts it to a non-toxic form, which then gets broken down by the biological
filter in the normal way. That is a holding action while the cycle catches up
— it is not a substitute for a filter that works.

One thing we are not going to tell you: what your test kit will read
afterwards. API’s own product page says both things. The description
and the FAQ say ammonia will show a reduction on API test kits after dosing;
the Instructions of Use block on the same page says the aquarium “will still
test positive for ammonia until it is removed by the biological filter”. We
are not going to pick one of those and present it as fact. Dose to the label,
fix the underlying cause, and treat the number on the card as a reason to keep
working rather than a verdict on the product.

Pack Size

473 ml. That is API’s 16 fl oz bottle — they make
AMMO-LOCK in 4 oz, 8 oz, 16 oz and 1 gallon, and we hold the 16 oz and the
8 oz.

At the label rate of 5 ml per 38 litres, this bottle gives about
94 doses of 5 ml, enough to treat roughly 3,600 litres of
water cumulatively. On a 100-litre aquarium that is around
36 whole-tank doses; on a 200-litre tank, around 18. Those
figures are our arithmetic on API’s published rate, not a claim printed on the
bottle.

The dosing cap is part of the bottle — API’s instructions assume you
are measuring with it, and there is no separate measure to lose.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
