Material: steel, matte steel finish. B2N describe their tools as made from “best grade steel” and hand-finished; they do not publish a grade number or an alloy, so we cannot quote one.

B2N call these pocket-sized, and that is the point of them: at 8 in they are easy to control in a small tank, where a full-length pair of scissors is mostly in your way. In a tank deeper than about 30 cm expect to get your hand wet.

Looking after it — our advice, not a manufacturer instruction. B2N publish no care instructions. Steel aquascaping tools last for years if you rinse them in fresh water and dry them properly after every session, and they spot and pit if you put them away wet. If you use them in a marine tank, rinsing is not optional — salt creep will find any water left on the shanks or inside the joint.

Compatibility

What these are for: pruning aquatic plants, with the curved tip aimed specifically at trimming stem plants precisely and with minimal tissue damage. The curve is what lets you cut a stem parallel to the substrate or follow the contour of a bush, rather than cutting flat across it.

Who B2N recommend them for: new and intermediate aquascapers, and nano aquascapes — that last part is missing from the bullet list above and it matters. These are the small-tank scissors. If your tank is a 60 cm or larger layout you will probably want the longer Pro Series Curved Scissors instead, which we also stock.

Pro Series or Prime Series? B2N split the tool range in two. Pro Series is aimed at intermediate and advanced aquascapers. Prime Series is tailored to beginner and intermediate aquascapers and, specifically, to nano and pico layouts — the tools are shorter and easier to handle in a small tank. Both series use the same steel; what changes is the size and the geometry, not the quality.

What they are not for. Curved scissors are the general trimming tool. For moss B2N make dedicated Moss Trimmers with a different blade profile; for cutting stems that break the surface without splashing the tank they make Splash Scissors. Using a curved pair for those jobs works, but not as well.

The matching Prime Series tools — Needle Tweezers, Sand Spade and Glass Scraper — are sized to the same hand and the same tanks, and B2N sell the scissors and needle tweezers as a pair because that combination covers most of what a planted nano needs.

Made in India. B2N are a Kolkata brand, founded by aquascapers who were tired of choosing between expensive imported tools and cheap ones that did not work. Everything in the range is manufactured here. In practice that means spares, replacements and questions do not have to cross a border.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
