Cyanobacteria (red slime algae) often arise if the water temperature rises, sometimes in combination with a high level of organics in the water or rotting bottom material. Excital effectively gets rid of cyanobacteria. Excital is easy and safe to use and is harmless to fish and corals. If there is a serious infestation, then it is recommended to first remove the cyanobacteria by hand as much as possible and then add Excital. If there is a serious infestation, the Excital treatment can be prolonged for a few days, even with a double dose.

Compatibility

Water type. Marine only. Easy-Life list Excital under marine algae and cyano, and describe it as removing red spots in marine aquariums.

Reef tanks. Easy-Life state plainly that Excital is reef and coral safe, and harmless to fish and corals. They are confident enough about it that they allow a double dose in a severe outbreak — their words: “even with a double dose because it’s completely reef and coral safe”.

Livestock. Safe for corals, shrimps and other invertebrates as well as fish. Excital contains no antibiotics and no copper compounds, which is what makes it usable in a tank full of invertebrates in the first place.

Equipment. All equipment may remain switched on — including the skimmer, which does not have to be turned off for the treatment.

Filtration. One thing has to come out: remove activated carbon for the duration. Carbon will strip the product back out of the water.

What to expect. Excital works by building up bacteria that displace the cyanobacteria, so nothing much happens for the first few days. Easy-Life say results become visible after 5 to 7 days and within 10 days overall, and that a second treatment is sometimes needed. With a heavy infestation, siphon and pull off as much of the red slime by hand as you can before the first dose.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
