Replacement wet side assembly for the EcoTech Marine VorTech MP40. The wet side is the half of the pump that sits inside the aquarium — the impeller assembly and its housing, driven magnetically through the glass by the dry side on the outside.

Because the two halves are separate units, a worn wet side does not mean a new pump. Fitting a fresh one restores flow and quietens a pump that has grown noisy, for a fraction of the cost of a complete VorTech, and it is the normal service part on a pump that has run for a long time.

When to replace the wet side

• Flow has dropped, or the pump has become noticeably louder or rougher-sounding.
• The impeller or shaft shows wear, scoring, or coralline build-up that will not clean off.
• The pump stutters, or no longer starts reliably after a full clean.

Fitted in minutes

The wet side lifts off the glass and the replacement seats in its place — no plumbing, no draining, and no tools beyond what is needed to part the two halves. Rinse the new assembly before it goes in, and check the magnet faces are clean so the pump runs quietly from the start.

Compatibility

Specific to the VorTech MP40 — it fits the MP40wQD and MP40wES. Check your pump’s model before ordering, as the MP10, MP40 and MP60 each take their own wet side assembly.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
