Red Sea’s highly-anticipated ReefDose redefines ease-of-use and smart functionality for aquarium dosing pumps, offering advanced programming and incredible dosing accuracy for the most demanding applications. The ReefDose doser was built from the ground up to meet the needs of modern reef aquarists. Utilizing Red Sea’s custom-built dosing heads, the ReefDose is capable of delivering incredible single-drop precision through a variety of dosing programs. The three dosing speed settings offer additional versatility, prioritizing whisper quiet operating at up to 15mL per minute, all the way up to 45mL per minute with Turbo mode.

The ReefDose is more than just another programmable dosing pump. Smart software functionality like the “Dynamic Dosing Queue” run by the controller combines the desired dosing plans for each head into one coordinated daily dosing schedule for the complete device. The queue is automatically updated after any settings changes, and reschedules any doses that are missed due to unscheduled events such as power outages, maintenance, or feeding.

ReefBeat App

The ReefDose is also part of the Red Sea smart ecosystem, integrating with other ReefBeat devices. With programming through the ReefBeat App, the ReefDose can be programmed for multiple automated dosing setups, or set up for individually customized dosing schedules. Through ReefBeat, you can schedule dosing programs to run every day, or only on selected days, with daily doses ranging from once per day to once per hour.

Daily dose per head 0.2 ml to 1,000 ml in 0.1 ml steps, split over up to 24 doses a day; the smallest single dose is 0.2 ml. Dosing rates are Whisper about 15 ml/min, Regular about 30 ml/min and Turbo about 45 ml/min.

Calibration check: after calibrating a head the app gives a confirmation dose of exactly 4 ml, which should measure between 3.95 and 4.05 ml. Outside that, the calibration is repeated.

What Red Sea do not publish for this model:

• A weight for the unit
• A noise figure in dB
• A rated service life for the dosing heads themselves (only the internal tube has a stated replacement interval)

Those rows are simply not on Red Sea’s specification sheet or in the manual, so we have left them blank rather than fill them in. If one of them decides your purchase, ask us before ordering and we will put the question to Red Sea.

What’s in the Box

Red Sea do not print an itemised scope of delivery for this product. The list below is built from the parts and components named in Red Sea’s own manual for it. If something on it is missing from your carton, tell us and we will take it up with the distributor.

Compatibility

Tubing. The inlet and outlet hose barbs and their lock nuts are sized for flexible tube of roughly 3 mm (1/8″) internal and 5 mm (3/16″–1/4″) external diameter. Red Sea strongly recommend air-impermeable TPE tubing of the kind supplied with the unit — ordinary silicone airline lets air through and will degrade dosing accuracy.

Where it can go. The ReefDose is splashproof but not waterproof, and is designed to live inside an aquarium cabinet. It should not be mounted directly above open water. Screw the supplied bracket to any vertical surface — Red Sea specifically advise against self-adhesive pads — or stand the unit on a flat surface on its bottom, top, back or either side, provided the dosing tubes are not pinched.

Outlet tubes are secured above the sump. Supplements are dosed into the sump, not into the display.

This is a ReefBeat device. Full functionality needs Red Sea’s free ReefBeat app on an Android or iOS phone or tablet, a home Wi-Fi network and a live internet connection. Without internet you can still run it in Offline or Direct mode, but remote access, control from more than one device and status notifications are not available.

Safety & Precautions

• Indoor use only. Use only the power supply that came with the unit — a supply rated for fewer watts than the appliance can overheat.
• Do not run the unit if the cord or plug is damaged, if it is malfunctioning, or if it has been dropped. Do not attempt a cord repair yourself; return it for service or discard it.
• Leave a drip loop in every cord — the low point of the cable must sit below the socket so water running down the cable drips off rather than reaching the outlet. If a plug or socket does get wet, do not unplug it: kill the circuit at the breaker first.
• Unplug before fitting or removing parts and before cleaning. Pull the plug, never the cord.
• Keep children away from the equipment, and do not touch moving parts while it is running.
• Do not install or store it where it will be exposed to weather or to temperatures below freezing.
• Splashproof is not waterproof. Do not mount it over open water.
• Recalibrate a head every time you replace its internal dosing tube — the calibration is specific to that tube.
• Replace the inner tube of each head about once a year to keep the calibration honest, and only with an original ReefDose dosing tube assembly complete with hose barbs. The length and diameter of that tube are critical to how the head meters, and the tube is lightly greased in the factory.
• Damage to the internal dosing tube is a wear item and is excluded from Red Sea’s warranty.
• Red Sea build in an automatic delay between heads so two supplements never land in the water together. The minimum is 15 seconds (the default) and the maximum is 5 minutes — do not set it to the minimum with supplements that react.
• There is a 3 V CR1220 lithium cell inside that keeps the clock running through a power cut. It needs replacing every few years.
• Do not overtighten the lock nuts on the hose barbs.

Warranty & Support

This product is covered by warranty as per the manufacturer policy, against material and manufacturing defects from the date of purchase.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first. Most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
