The perfect tool for safe and efficient cleaning of the aquarium substrate and for doing a partial water change at the same time. Its round edged triangular shape ensures good access – even into corners. A range of special functions and features offer you both safety and ease of use.

Setup & Use

It does the water change and the substrate clean in one operation. That is the point of the tool: instead of siphoning water out and then separately disturbing the gravel, the bell lifts the substrate in the flow, the dirt goes out with the water and the gravel drops back.

Setting up. Clip the hose into your bucket with the hose clip — do that before you start, not after, because a hose that jumps out of a bucket empties a tank onto a floor faster than you would expect. The bucket goes lower than the tank; the siphon is gravity-driven.

Starting it. Use the priming aid rather than your mouth. Pump it until the flow establishes. EHEIM’s own word for why is ‘hygienic’, and they are right.

Working the substrate. Push the bell into the gravel, let the flow lift and tumble it until the water clears, lift out, move on. Work a section of the bed at a time rather than the whole tank in one session, the same principle that applies to cleaning biological media. The rounded triangular head is shaped to get into the corners and along the front glass, where the mulm actually collects.

The quick-stop button halts the flow instantly. Use it when you move between sections, when a fish comes too close, and to end the job at the volume of water you meant to change rather than the volume the siphon felt like taking.

Reach. The supplied EHEIM hose is 582 mm. That is short — it is designed to be extended with EHEIM’s own installation sets, and on a tank of any height above a low cabinet you will want to. EHEIM’s fitting table also calls for an additional extension on tanks deeper than about 60 cm. Tell us your tank height and we will tell you whether the set alone will reach.

Afterwards. Rinse it through with fresh water and let it dry. A gravel cleaner left wet and full of mulm is a bacterial culture you then put into your tank next month.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Filter media and substrates carry no manufacturing or expiry date — their working life begins on first contact with water, not on the shelf.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
