The Eheim Loop 15000 Pond Filter is built for pond-scale filtration — see our guide to choosing the right filtration system for a healthy fish pond for how to size one to your pond.
Compatibility
Pond sizes EHEIM publish for the LOOP 15000:
Without fish up to 15,000 litres
With fish up to 7,500 litres
With koi up to 3,900 litres
Those three figures are not alternative ways of saying the same thing — they are the same filter against three different bioloads. Koi are the extreme case: they are large, they are messy and they eat plants, so the same box is rated for roughly a quarter of the volume it would handle on a planted pond with no fish in it. Size against the row that describes your pond, not the headline number.
What is in the set: the FLOW5000 filter pump and the CLEARUVC-11 UV clarifier, matched to each other and to the box by EHEIM. There is nothing further to buy to make it run.
Flow and lift: maximum 4,600 litres an hour, maximum delivery head 3.1 m. The head figure is what decides whether the pump can reach a filter box set back and raised above the pond — check the rise from water level to the box inlet against it.
Hose and cable: 5 m (1 inch) of spiral hose supplied, 10 m of cable on the pump and 5 m on the clarifier. Measure the run before you site anything, because a pond installation is where cable length actually bites.
Filter box footprint: 603 × 398 × 368 mm (w × d × h). It is a shockproof, UV-resistant all-weather housing, but it still wants a level, solid base.
Mains: 220–240 V at 50 Hz — Indian mains as supplied.
Setup & Use
How the set works. The pump sits in the pond and lifts water to the filter box. Inside the box the spray arm spreads it evenly over the media — that even distribution is the whole reason the spray arm exists, because water that channels through one spot uses a fraction of the bed. It passes down through the four mechanical and biological stages, through the CLEARUVC clarifier, and returns to the pond clear of algae and particles.
Order of assembly. Filter box sited and levelled first, then the clarifier mounted its 2 m back from the water, then the hose run, then the pump. Power last, and only once water is moving.
Run it continuously through the season. A pond filter that is switched off overnight loses its bacterial population to oxygen starvation surprisingly quickly, and a UV clarifier that runs intermittently never gets on top of a green-water bloom.
Maintenance. Rinse the mechanical stages when the flow drops — in pond water that is often. Rinse the biological media gently and never all at once, in pond water rather than under a tap. Clean the clarifier's quartz sleeve when you service the box; a film of algae on the glass is exactly what stops the lamp working.
The pump protects itself against low water. EHEIM fit the FLOW pumps in this range with overheating protection for a low pond level, which is a backstop for evaporation, not a licence to let the level fall.
Safety & Precautions
Keep the UV clarifier at least 2 m from the water. That is the safety distance EHEIM specify to VDE for the CLEARUVC that comes in this set, and it is not a suggestion — it is the distance that keeps a mains device away from the edge someone could slip off. Set the filter box and the clarifier back from the bank.
Never run the lamp outside its housing, and never look at it. UV-C damages skin and eyes at doses far below what you would notice at the time. EHEIM's AUTO OFF cuts the lamp the moment the unit is opened, which is a good safety net and not a reason to test it. The tube also contains mercury: handle it as breakable, hold it with a cloth rather than bare fingers, and do not run it if the glass is damaged.
Never run the clarifier without water flowing through it. The water is what cools the UV-C lamp. If the pump stops, the clarifier has to stop too.
Replace the lamp at about 8,000 hours — roughly a year of continuous running. EHEIM are explicit that the UV-C output falls away sharply past that point, and it does so long before the lamp stops lighting up. A lamp that still glows is not evidence that it is still sterilising. Clean the quartz sleeve at the same time; a mineral film on the glass costs you output just as effectively as an old tube does.
Not for swimming ponds, and not for salt water. EHEIM exclude bathing ponds explicitly. The set is for ornamental fish ponds.
Keep it out of direct sun and between +4 and +35 °C. EHEIM list direct sunlight as something to avoid for the clarifier housing. In an Indian summer that is worth taking seriously: site the box in shade if you possibly can.
Outdoor electrics need outdoor parts. Any extension lead or distributor must be rated for outdoor use and splash protection, the cable must not be walked on where it runs through ground or gravel, and the whole installation goes on a residual current device rated at no more than 30 mA. Connect only to a properly installed earthed socket.
The mains cable cannot be replaced. EHEIM mould it into the unit. Their instruction is unambiguous: if the cable is damaged the appliance must be scrapped, not repaired and not re-terminated. Check the lead and plug before each use, and keep the cable away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
Nobody in the water while it is running. EHEIM's instruction for their pond equipment, and the reason the 2 m rule exists.
Overwintering. Clean the unit and store it somewhere frost-free. Left outside full of water through a cold snap it will crack.
Packaging and small parts are a choking hazard. Keep them away from children and animals. EHEIM rate the appliance as usable by children from three years old under supervision; cleaning and user maintenance are not jobs for children unless an adult is supervising.
Repairs go back to EHEIM. Their instruction is that repairs are carried out by an EHEIM service centre only, that you carry out only the work described in the manual, that you never modify the appliance, and that you fit only original EHEIM spare parts. Talk to us first — most faults in this range are a single wear part, and we would rather send you the part than the unit go anywhere.
Warranty & Support
This product carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase, covering material and manufacturing defects. EHEIM excludes wear parts — impeller, sealing rings, hoses and filter media — along with glass damage, units that have been opened, and any unit fitted with non-EHEIM parts.
Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first — most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.
Returns & Replacement
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.
If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
Full terms are on our Cancellation & Returns page.
