ISTA make the same set as the IF-731 for 16 mm hose. They also sell a glass spray bar version — IF-733 in 16 mm and IF-734 in 12 mm — if you want the return spread along the back glass rather than curled across the surface.

What ISTA do not publish for this model:

• Pipe length and the height of the bend
• Glass thickness and internal bore
• The tank glass thickness the hanger will clear
• Weight

Those rows are simply not on ISTA's specification sheet or in their catalogue, and we would rather leave them blank than print a number we cannot source. If one of them decides your purchase, ask us and we will measure the stock item before you order.

Hand-made also means that two pipes of the same article number are not identical to the millimetre. That is inherent to the product, not a fault.

Setup & Use

Check your hose before anything else. This is the 12 mm set. If your filter runs 16 mm hose, the IF-731 is the one you want. Getting this wrong is the most common mistake with lily pipes and it is not recoverable by force.

Warm the hose, then push. Soak the last few centimetres of hose in hot water for a minute before fitting. It slides on almost without pressure. Cold, dry hose is what breaks glass pipes, and it breaks them in your hand.

Secure every joint with a cable tie. ISTA specify this. Hose that was softened to fit relaxes over the following weeks, and the tie is what keeps the pipe on the hose after it does.

Set the outflow just under the surface and angled along the glass. That gives you a rolling circulation around the tank and enough surface movement for gas exchange without breaking the surface into ripples — which matters if you are injecting CO2, since a broken surface drives it straight back out.

Set the inflow low, and keep it clear. The narrow slits are what stop leaves being drawn in, and they are also what clogs. A slotted intake needs checking more often than a plastic strainer does.

Cleaning is the real maintenance job. Glass pipes go green and brown from the inside, and the whole reason for buying glass is that you can see through it. A flexible pipe brush and a soak in a bleach solution — rinsed thoroughly and dechlorinated afterwards — restores them. Budget for doing this monthly.

Never pull hard to remove the hose. ISTA's own caution. Cut the hose lengthwise with a blade laid flat along the glass instead: you sacrifice a centimetre of hose and keep the pipe.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
