Red Sea Aiptasia-X is a guaranteed, reef-safe elimination treatment injected near the oral disk of aiptasia anemones.

Description

Guaranteed, Reef-Safe elimination of Aiptasia.

Aiptasia-X is a unique, thick adhesive mixture that globulates on contact with the aquarium water.

It is easily injected near to the oral disk of the anemone and stimulates the anemone to ingest the material without causing it to withdraw. Within minutes of ingesting the Aiptasia-X the anemone will implode, eradicating both the anemone and planulas.

Aiptasia-X globules will not affect the sessile polyps of corals and allows for the safe treatment of Aiptasia that have grown inside coral colonies.

Excess Aiptasia-X will decompose over time without causing any harm to the reef.

Red Sea Aiptasia-X offering :

  • A unique adhesive material
  • Aiptasia does not retract during treatment
  • Does not affect water chemistry
  • Includes straight & angled applicator tips

Compatibility

Marine and reef aquariums. Red Sea publish it as completely reef safe: the globules will not affect the sessile polyps of corals, so Aiptasia growing inside a coral colony can be treated where it stands.

It does not affect water chemistry, and excess material decomposes harmlessly over time rather than needing to be removed.

It is for Aiptasia and Anemonia pest anemones. It is not a general anemone killer to be used on a display anemone, and it is not a medication.

Dosage & Directions

Turn off every pump and powerhead first, and leave them off for about 15 minutes after treating. Water movement is what carries the material away from the target.

Shake the bottle hard. Fit the needle to the syringe by turning it until it locks, put the needle into the bottle and draw the syringe up.

Bring the tip of the needle slowly closer to the anemone’s oral disc, releasing small quantities as you go. The mixture globulates on contact with saltwater; the anemone ingests it without withdrawing, and implodes within minutes, taking its planulae with it.

Roughly 2–3 ml treats one anemone, so a 60 ml bottle covers about 100 of them.

Work through the tank in sessions rather than all at once, and expect to repeat: Aiptasia that were hidden when you treated will show themselves later.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.
