TRITON DIY salts are packed in-house using only the purest ingredients, tested and quality controlled within TRITON Lab.

These products are suitable for 2-Part, 3-Part or other D.I.Y. supplement methods used by reef keepers and professional aquarists.

Compatibility

Sodium bicarbonate raises alkalinity and nothing else. It does not move calcium, magnesium or trace elements, which is the point of dosing the three macro salts separately rather than from a blend.

• Marine reef aquariums. Two-part, three-part, Balling or any other do-it-yourself dosing scheme: TRITON list all of these as intended uses.
• Pairs with TRITON CaCl2 for calcium and TRITON MgCl2 for magnesium: the three of them cover what TRITON call the big three reef parameters.
• Add TRITON Infusion to the calcium solution and a Balling setup mixed from these salts becomes the full TRITON Method. That is TRITON’s own instruction, and Infusion is a separate product.
• Usable as a one-off correction alongside Core7 or a calcium reactor, not only as a standing dosing scheme.
• Dissolve in RO/DI water before anything goes into the tank.

TRITON pack their DIY macro salts in-house and quality-control every batch at TRITON Labs. They are meant for reef keepers mixing their own solutions rather than buying them ready-made.

Dosage & Directions

3 g of TRITON NaHCO3 per 100 litres of aquarium water raises alkalinity by approximately 1 dKH. TRITON recommend holding alkalinity stable between 7 and 8 dKH.

• Dissolve the powder in RO/DI water before it goes anywhere near the tank, then add the solution to an area with good flow.
• As a Balling stock solution, TRITON’s own recipe is 840 g of NaHCO3 into 8 litres of RO/DI water, then topped up to a final 10 litres.
• Test alkalinity daily while you are moving it and let it settle before the next adjustment (TRITON’s guidance for alkalinity dosing across the range).

Alkalinity is the parameter corals consume fastest and the one that punishes a swing hardest, so the useful skill is holding a number rather than reaching one.

Pack Size

4,000 g of sodium bicarbonate powder.

• At TRITON’s rate of 3 g per 100 litres per dKH, a 4 kg bag will lift a 400-litre system by 1 dKH roughly 330 times over.
• Sold as loose powder for mixing, not as a ready-made solution.
• Keep it sealed and dry. Bicarbonate takes up moisture from the air, and a caked bag no longer measures accurately by weight (our advice, not TRITON’s).

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 48 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
