Like fish, corals and other filter feeders require nutrients for their growth and wellbeing. Natural zooplankton is an important energy and nutrient source for hard corals and other filter feeders. In the sea zooplankter primarily move at night from deeper water layers to the reef coral habitat. In a reef aquarium it is important to offer this natural wealth of plankton to the coral in a manner that is as natural as possible. PRO-CORAL ZOOTON is a balanced zooplankton substitute for hard corals, especially small polyp hard corals, in the marine aquarium. It consists mainly of selected marine ingredients and is rich in trace elements and minerals from the sea. Spirulina is rich in carotenoids and together with brewers yeast it satisfies the demand for natural B-vitamins especially vitamin B12.

Composition & Analysis

Ingredients: shrimp and shrimp by-products, algae, brewer's yeast, spirulina.

Additives: cellulose 10%, betaine 25 g/kg, vitamin B12 100 mg/kg.

What that gives you: selected marine ingredients of animal and vegetable origin, rich in trace elements and minerals. The spirulina supplies large amounts of carotinoids, and in combination with the brewer's yeast covers the requirement for the natural B group vitamins, particularly vitamin B12. The betaine is there as a feeding stimulant — it is what makes a coral respond to the food rather than ignore it.

Who it is aimed at: small polyp stony corals above all, and other zooplankton filter feeders.

Feeding Guide

How much: one measuring scoop per 200 to 500 litres of aquarium volume.

How often: twice per day.

How to prepare it — this part matters. Do not sprinkle the powder onto the water. Tropic Marin's method:

1. Stir the scoop of powder into some aquarium water in a mug or beaker.
2. Leave it a short time to soften.
3. Add the prepared food to the aquarium slowly, so the animals can actually catch and ingest it.

Corals feed on what stays suspended long enough to be caught. Dry powder tipped in goes straight to the skimmer.

Two things Tropic Marin suggest doing with it:

• Add 1 drop of Tropic Marin Lipovit for every two measuring scoops to enrich the feed.
• Used together with Tropic Marin Reef Snow, larger flakes can be formed — useful if you are feeding corals with a bigger polyp than the SPS this is aimed at.

Night feeding. In the sea, zooplankton rises from deeper water into the reef mainly at night, which is when stony corals expect to find it. Feeding one of the two daily doses after lights-out is closer to how the corals actually feed.

Not suitable for human consumption.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months' remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
