The NuniQ M Line is a full-spectrum RGB LED fixture line designed by GAON Company (Korea) for aquascapers who want reliable, elegant lighting without app-control complexity. It spans four sizes — 30M, 60M, 90M, and 150M — built to the same design, spectrum, and mounting hardware, so you can size up or down as your tank changes without relearning a new fixture.

Model Specifications

The 150M was built for the Indian market. GAON made that size specifically for India, so it does not appear in the Korean catalogue their M specification table comes from — the 150M row above is not one of GAON’s published figures. Tell us your tank length and we will check the unit against it before you order.

About these figures. The table above is the specification for the fixtures we actually hold, confirmed with our supplier. GAON’s own archived spec sheets carry different lumen and wattage numbers against models of the same name — those captures date from 2023 and 2024 and describe an earlier generation of the M line, which GAON have since replaced. Where the two disagree, the table above is the one that describes what ships from us.

Choosing the Right Light Level

Wattage and lumens tell you how bright a fixture is, not whether it’s bright enough for a given plant at your tank’s depth — that’s what PAR measures. As a general guide for where the M Line fits:

• Low-light plants (Anubias, Java Fern, most Cryptocoryne, Bucephalandra) do well even with the fixture mounted higher above the tank or run on a shorter photoperiod.
• Medium-light plants (Amazon Sword, Vallisneria, many stem plants) sit squarely in this fixture’s comfort zone at normal mounting height.
• High-light carpeting plants (Monte Carlo, Dwarf Hairgrass, HC Cuba) and demanding stems (Rotala, Ludwigia) generally need the fixture mounted close to the water and paired with CO2 injection — measure actual PAR at your substrate before committing to carpeting species.

Setup & Use

Sit it on the tank, on the legs it came with. Extend the adjustable legs until they span the tank, and rest the fixture on the rim. GAON describe the range as having “2 in 1 facilities where you can hang or stand with your tank”, with an adjustable stand sized to the tank rather than to the fixture — so if you would rather suspend it from a ceiling or wall fixing of your own, the fixture is built for that too. The side mounting brackets in the box are the third option, for tanks where the legs sit awkwardly.

Rimmed or rimless, the legs handle both. They rest on the glass on a rimless tank and on the plastic trim on a rimmed one. Set both legs to the same extension before you lower the fixture on, or it will sit skewed and throw the light unevenly across the substrate.

Control is a switch on the cable and nothing else. There is no app, no Bluetooth, no ramping and no internal timer on this line. Put it on an aquarium timer or a smart plug and leave it alone — plants respond to a photoperiod that starts and ends at the same time every day far more than they respond to a sunrise curve.

Leg height is your intensity control on this fixture. With no dimming, raising the light is the only way to reduce what reaches the substrate. A fixture that is too bright goes up; one leaving the foreground dim comes down. Move it in steps of a couple of centimetres and give the tank a fortnight between changes.

Safety & Precautions

GAON publish no safety instructions for the NuniQ range. No manual, no warnings panel, no IP rating, no ingress statement. Everything below is our own guidance for a mains adapter working over an open aquarium, and we are labelling it as ours rather than passing it off as the manufacturer’s.

The fixture is low-voltage; the adapter is not. This line runs on 12 V DC, but the adapter feeding it is mains equipment. Keep it off the floor, out of splash range, and never sitting in the cabinet directly beneath a sump or a canister filter’s union taps.

Run a drip loop. Let the cable hang below the level of the socket before it rises to the plug, so water tracking down the lead drips off the bottom of the loop instead of running into the outlet. This costs nothing and is the single most useful thing you can do with an aquarium power lead.

Neither the fixture nor the adapter carries a published IP rating. GAON make no ingress-protection claim anywhere. Treat both as not water-resistant: no submersion, no sitting in a puddle on the cabinet top, and nothing resting on the fixture that could condense onto it.

Set both legs before you let go. The fixture is only as stable as the narrower of its two supports. Extend both to the same length, seat them squarely on the rim, and check the fixture does not rock before you route the cable — a light that shifts when the lid is opened is one that eventually goes in the water.

Do not look into it. A full-spectrum LED fixture at aquarium output is genuinely uncomfortable to look at directly, and worse at close range while you are working in the tank. Position it so you are not looking into the emitters from a seated position, and switch it off before you put your hands in.

Leave it air. No fan appears in any NuniQ specification — the aluminium body is the heatsink, so it needs air moving over it. Do not run the fixture with its lens resting on the water surface, and do not shut it inside a closed hood or under a condensation lid where the heat has nowhere to go.

Unplug it before maintenance. Water changes, glass cleaning and replanting all involve wet hands moving directly under the fixture. Cutting power first takes two seconds and removes the only real hazard in the whole arrangement.

What’s in the Box

The fixture, its power adapter, and the mounting hardware to put it on your tank. A NuniQ arrives ready to fit — you do not need to buy a mount separately to get it over the water.

• Adjustable legs. They extend to span the tank and rest the fixture on the rim, which is how most NuniQ owners run them. Because they adjust, one fixture covers a range of tank widths rather than one exact size.
• Side mounting brackets for on-tank mounting, for tanks where the legs are not the tidier answer.
• The DC power adapter. This line runs on 12 V DC, and the adapter supplied with our stock is rated for Indian mains — it plugs in here and works, with no converter and no step-down transformer.

GAON themselves publish no carton contents panel for any NuniQ fixture, so the above is what our own stock ships with rather than something copied off a website. If you want it confirmed against the exact unit you would receive, ask us before you order.

Warranty & Support

This product carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase, covering material and manufacturing defects.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first — most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
