Red Sea’s ReefMat Fleece Roller Filter offers plug-and-play, skimmer-friendly filtration with smart, ReefBeat-connected drive and easy fleece replacement.

Description

  • Plug & Play installation with multiple sump setup options
  • Easy fleece-mat replacement system
  • Efficient, high-flow, skimmer friendly, 50 g/m2, non-woven polyester fleece-mat rolls
  • Smart drive unit – connected to the ReefBeat ecosystem
  • Solid-State internal and external water level sensors (no moving parts)
  • Integrated media basket for additional chemical filtration
  • Kink-resistant, corrugated inlet hose with a USA/Metric PVC connector

The ReefMat comes fully assembled, straight out of the box. Designed to hang on a sump wall to conserve space, but also including mounting legs, you can place the ReefMat anywhere you want in your sump that has the space avaialble. Both the drive unit and inlet hose can be positioned on either side of the ReefMat making installation work for any sump set up.

The ReefMat 1200 comes with one 35m fleece roll (Replacement rolls can be found HERE). Each roll should last about 5-8 weeks on a moderately stocked 170 gallon reef system; however, bare-bottom tanks will typically exhaust rolls at a faster rate. Additionally, usage rate may be significantly higher for the first few weeks after installing a ReefMat while your system adjusts to the new level of mechanical filtration.
ReefBeat App

  • One interface for all of Red Sea’s smart devices.
  • Easy set-up and operation.
  • On-line monitoring and notifications.
    • End of roll monitoring
    • Performance log
    • Customized dispensing

ReefBeat gives you timely notifications when the fleece not only needs maintenance, but also if it should get stuck or torn. If any error occurs, the motor will simply not attempt to feed any more fleece until the issue is resolved. The end of Roll Monitor function lets you know the daily average use, and how many days you have left before the filter roll runs out so you can plan ahead.

What's in the Box

ReefMat unit with drive and sensor, one 35 m fleece roll, media basket, inlet fitting and hose, power supply and the manual.

Setup & Use

The ReefMat replaces filter socks in the first chamber of the sump. Feed the drain line into the inlet, load the fleece roll onto the spindle and thread it under the guide as the manual shows, then set the water level sensor.

From then on it runs itself: as the fleece loads with detritus the water level rises, the sensor sees it, and the motor advances fresh fleece and winds the used section onto the take-up spool. You empty the used roll rather than rinsing socks.

On a moderately stocked system of this size a 35 m roll lasts roughly 5 to 8 weeks. Heavy feeding, a new tank, or a sandstorm after maintenance will burn through it much faster — check the remaining roll after any big disturbance.

Compatibility

Any sump with the space and headroom for the unit, on systems up to about 1200 litres and 9000 l/h. It takes 32 mm corrugated hose on the inlet. It uses Red Sea's own fleece roll — keep a spare roll on hand, because the unit cannot filter without one.

Safety & Precautions

Mount the power supply above the water line, outside the sump, and leave a drip loop in the lead. Use an earthed socket.

Do not run the ReefMat without fleece loaded: unfiltered water bypasses straight through and the sensor has nothing to read. Keep fingers clear of the drive roller while it is advancing, and unplug it before clearing a jam or loading a new roll.

Warranty & Support

This product is covered by warranty as per the manufacturer policy, against material and manufacturing defects from the date of purchase.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first — most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.

Full terms are on our Cancellation & Returns page.
