Purigen is a premium synthetic adsorbent that is unlike any other filtration product. It is not a mixture of ion exchangers or adsorbents, but a unique macro-porous synthetic polymer that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water at a rate and capacity that exceeds all other competing products by over 500%. Purigen controls ammonia, nitrites and nitrates by removing nitrogenous organic waste that would otherwise release these harmful compounds. Purigen’s impact on trace elements is minimal. It significantly raises redox. It polishes water to unparalleled clarity. Purigen® darkens progressively as it exhausts, and is easily renewed by treating with bleach. Specifications

A synthetic macroporous polymer that adsorbs soluble and insoluble nitrogenous organic waste before it breaks down to ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.

Capacity: 250 mL treats up to 1,000 L (250 US gallons) for up to six months.

Supplied bagged: in a 180-micron mesh bag, fine enough to hold the resin and coarse enough not to blind.

It darkens as it loads and is spent when it has gone dark brown; that colour change is the only indicator you need.

Setup & Use

Rinse it and bag it before use.

Put it where water is actually forced through it rather than past it — a canister basket, a chemical filtration module, or the high-flow part of a sump. Media sitting in still water does almost nothing.

Purigen is regenerated rather than thrown away. Soak the exhausted resin in a 1:1 mix of household bleach and water for 24 hours, rinse well, then soak for a further 8 hours in water dosed with 4 tablespoons of Prime per cup before returning it to the filter. Marine users should regenerate in fresh water.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months' remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Filter media and substrates carry no manufacturing or expiry date — their working life begins on first contact with water, not on the shelf.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
