Compatibility

Sicce build the Syncra Silent for wet and dry use — it will run submerged or in-line — in freshwater and marine aquariums, terrariums, fountains and protein skimmers. One pump covers all of those; that is what 'multifunction' means in Sicce's catalogue.

This is the Syncra 1.5: 1,350 l/h at 23 W with a 180 cm maximum head. Size it by head as well as by flow — a return pump lifting water two metres delivers nothing like its rated flow, and the head figure is what tells you how much you actually get.

Larger models in the range run on a ceramic shaft. The stepped hose connectors supplied fit common aquarium hose.

Setup & Use

The Syncra Silent runs wet or dry — submerged in the sump or tank, or mounted outside it and fed by gravity. That is the feature the range is built around and it is what makes one pump serve as a return pump, a skimmer feed, a closed-loop pump or a fountain pump.

Submerged, sit it on the suction cups supplied so the body is not touching the glass — that is what stops a hum transmitting through the cabinet. In-line, prime it before switching on and keep the inlet below the water line.

Fit the stepped hose connector supplied and cut it to the diameter of your hose. Cutting one step too small is the commonest cause of a disappointing flow rate.

Clean it on a schedule rather than on symptoms: strip the impeller and chamber every few months and clear the lime scale off the ceramic shaft. On a marine tank, expect to do it more often.

Safety & Precautions

Unplug it at the mains before putting your hands in the tank or taking the unit apart. Water and a live mains connection are the one combination in this hobby that can actually kill you.

Leave a drip loop in the cable — a downward bend below the socket — so water running down the flex drips off the bottom of the loop instead of into the socket.

Never run it dry. The water it moves is what cools and lubricates it, and a pump left running in air destroys its own impeller in minutes.

The impeller is the only part that runs 24 hours a day, so it is a wear item rather than a fault. A pump that has become noisy or lost flow almost always wants its impeller and its chamber cleaned before it wants replacing — and lime scale, not wear, is usually what is holding it.

Every model except the 0.5 has thermal protection, which shuts the motor down if it overheats. Treat that as a backstop, not a licence — if it trips, find out why.

Warranty & Support

Sicce warrant this pump for 3 years from the date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship, extended to 5 years if you register the product with Sicce.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first — most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number — or email us, if you would rather — and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
