Compatibility

Read this before you add it to the basket. TRITON classify fluorine as an Intermediate element and print the warning twice: fluorine can be dangerous if dosed incorrectly — for experienced hobbyists only, and do not exceed the ICP-OES recommended dosage. Natural seawater carries about 1.3 mg/L of it. That is the entire margin you are working inside, and it is why this is not a bottle to dose hopefully.

This is not a supplement you dose on a schedule. It is a correction you make because a laboratory told you to. TRITON’s whole method is ICP-OES analysis first, supplement second: you send a water sample to a TRITON lab, the results come back with 45 parameters measured to parts-per-billion, and the DOSE tab of that report tells you the correction dose to reach the set point and the maintenance dose to hold it there. Without that report there is no dose — TRITON publish none, because the right answer depends on your water.

What fluorine does: TRITON describe it as an important building block for healthy coral skeletons, promoting growth and colouration in LPS and SPS corals. It is used by invertebrates too, for building shells and skeletons — so the benefit is not confined to your corals.

It is a macro element, not a trace element. TRITON split the range at that line: macro elements — calcium, magnesium, potassium, strontium, boron, bromine, sulphate and fluorine — are consumed in milligrams per litre and build skeleton and pH stability; trace elements work in micrograms per litre on colour and enzyme processes. Fluorine sits at the very bottom of the macro range, which is what makes it the touchiest of the eight.

Marine reef aquariums only. This is a seawater supplement, formulated against natural seawater concentrations. It has no application in a freshwater tank.

Where it sits next to Core7. TRITON Core7 Base Elements cover the daily calcium, alkalinity and magnesium demand. The single-element supplements exist to correct the specific imbalances Core7 cannot reach. They work alongside Core7, not instead of it — and TRITON are firm that when a single element is low you correct it with that element’s own supplement rather than by increasing your Core7 dose, which would push everything else up with it.

How TRITON ask you to add it: dose into an area of high flow, so it disperses before it can contact anything at full strength. Across the range TRITON also ask you to leave five minutes between adjusting different elements — do not pour several corrections in together. And check that the tank volume in your TRITON Aquarium Profile is right before you calculate anything: TRITON warn specifically that a wrong volume produces wrong dosage information, and net water volume is always less than the tank’s nominal size once rock and sand are in it.

Do not read the litre as an invitation to dose generously. TRITON supply their macro elements in the format that suits the element rather than the customer’s appetite — calcium, magnesium, potassium and sulphate are 1 kg powders; strontium and bromine are 100 ml ten-times concentrates; boron and fluorine are litre liquids. A litre of fluorine is a very large number of correction doses.

Storage: cool, dry, out of direct sunlight, cap closed tightly after each use. Keep it away from children and from anyone who might mistake it for one of the harmless bottles on the shelf.

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
