Triton Manganese Trace Element 100 ml

Unlike other trace element additives, TRITON products have been scientifically engineered for demanding reef aquaria over the last 10 years. The experience gained from thousands of seawater samples has enabled the development of a unique combination of different ingredients that has proven to be beneficial to all aquariums.

The element manganese has a positive effect on the general health of LPS corals and can also promote polyp expansion.

Compatibility

Skill level: Intermediate. TRITON’s own caution on this bottle is dangerous if dosed incorrectly — follow ICP-OES recommendations only.

This is not a supplement you dose on a schedule. It is a correction you make because a laboratory told you to. TRITON’s whole method is ICP-OES analysis first, supplement second: you send a water sample to a TRITON lab, the results come back with 45 parameters measured to parts-per-billion, and the DOSE tab of that report tells you the correction dose to reach the set point and the maintenance dose to hold it there. Without that report there is no dose — TRITON publish none, because the right answer depends on your water.

Who benefits most. TRITON single out Goniopora as responding particularly well to manganese, and describe the element as beneficial for LPS coral health, colour and polyp extension generally. If your LPS are sulking with their polyps in, this is one of the elements worth measuring.

It also matters outside the display tank. Manganese is crucial to photosynthesis, and TRITON note that it supports macro algae growth in a refugium — which in turn strengthens the natural nutrient export your refugium exists to provide. A manganese-limited refugium is a refugium that has quietly stopped working.

Marine reef aquariums only. This is a seawater supplement, formulated against natural seawater concentrations. It has no application in a freshwater tank.

Where it sits next to Core7. TRITON Core7 Base Elements cover the daily calcium, alkalinity and magnesium demand. The single-element supplements exist to correct the specific imbalances Core7 cannot reach. They work alongside Core7, not instead of it — and TRITON are firm that when a single element is low you correct it with that element’s own supplement rather than by increasing your Core7 dose, which would push everything else up with it.

How TRITON ask you to add it: dose into an area of high flow, so it disperses before it can contact anything at full strength. Across the range TRITON also ask you to leave five minutes between adjusting different elements — do not pour several corrections in together. And check that the tank volume in your TRITON Aquarium Profile is right before you calculate anything: TRITON warn specifically that a wrong volume produces wrong dosage information, and net water volume is always less than the tank’s nominal size once rock and sand are in it.

The alternative, if 15 bottles is too many. TRITON’s MYTE service (Master Your Trace Elements) blends 15 elements — boron, bromine, chromium, cobalt, fluoride, iodine, iron, lithium, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, potassium, strontium, vanadium and zinc — into two custom bottles recalculated each month from your latest ICP results. If you are dosing more than a few elements individually, that is the route TRITON themselves point you to.

You will need the test. We stock the TRITON ICP-OES Test alongside these supplements. If you have not tested, buy the test first — a single-element supplement bought without one is a guess in an expensive bottle.

Dosage & Directions

Dose exactly what the DOSE tab of your TRITON ICP-OES analysis tells you to. TRITON publish no bottle-rate for manganese and no millilitres-per-litre figure, and that is deliberate rather than an omission: the correction dose depends on how far below the set point your water actually sits, which only the analysis can tell you. Your report gives you two numbers — a correction dose to bring the level up, and a maintenance dose to hold it.

The warning TRITON print against this element: dangerous if dosed incorrectly — follow ICP-OES recommendations only. Manganese is graded Intermediate. Trace elements are powerful at very low concentrations, in TRITON’s own comparison much like phosphate, and the amounts involved are far below what any home test kit can see — so if you overdose, you will not find out from a hobby kit. You will find out from your corals, or from the next ICP test.

Re-test after correcting. The point of the method is the loop: test, dose, test again. A correction dose is not a standing instruction.

Pack Size

100 ml. TRITON also produce manganese in a 1000 ml bottle — it is one of only two trace elements they offer in a litre, the other being iodine — which tells you something about how much of it a mature reef gets through. We stock the 100 ml here; ask us if you want the litre.

For most systems the small bottle is right. An ICP-guided correction is measured in millilitres, so 100 ml lasts a long time on a normal tank; the litre is for large systems and for anyone whose analysis keeps coming back manganese-limited.

Storage: cool, dry, out of direct sunlight, cap closed tightly after each use.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Backorder & Dispatch Timeline

This item is stocked to order. Back-orders are consolidated and placed with our overseas suppliers once a month, on the last day of the month, and all such orders are shipped before the 15th of the following month.

Back-orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed with the supplier. If you cancel before that, payment-gateway charges of 2% plus GST are deducted and the balance refunded. In the rare case a supplier cannot fulfil the item, we will offer you an alternative first, and refund in full with no deduction if you would rather not take it.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
