Setup & Use

This is a pond UVC unit, not an aquarium one — it is plumbed into the pond’s circulation, after the pump and normally after the filter, using whichever of the three supplied nozzles matches your hose: 25 mm (1"), 32 mm (1¼") or 40 mm (1½").

Fit it so water passes through slowly enough to be dosed. Too much flow and the water leaves before the UV has done anything; the pond-size ratings assume a sensible flow rate rather than the maximum the housing will pass.

Run it continuously through the algae season. Clearing green water takes days, not hours, and switching it on and off defeats it — the point is to keep interrupting the algae’s reproductive cycle.

The lamp has a service life of about 8,000 hours, which is roughly a season of continuous running. It keeps glowing long after it has stopped producing useful UV-C, so replace it annually rather than waiting for it to fail. Clean the quartz sleeve at the same time; scale on the sleeve blocks the radiation as effectively as a dead lamp.

Never look at a lit UVC lamp outside its housing, and never run one outside the unit. UV-C damages eyes and skin. Unplug before opening it.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Filter media and substrates carry no manufacturing or expiry date — their working life begins on first contact with water, not on the shelf.

Warranty & Support

This product carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase, covering material and manufacturing defects. EHEIM excludes wear parts — impeller, sealing rings, hoses and filter media — along with glass damage, units that have been opened, and any unit fitted with non-EHEIM parts.

Warranty support is handled by us directly. Message our WhatsApp support with your order number and we will diagnose the fault first. Most cases are solved by replacing a single part, so you rarely need to send the whole unit. If the item does need to come back, it ships to our Delhi or Pune warehouse, whichever one served your order, and courier cost in both directions is borne by the customer. Your GST invoice is valid proof of purchase for the claim.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
