Compatibility

Freshwater planted tanks. It contains no phosphate and no nitrate, and ISTA state it has no effect on pH or hardness — so it can go into a soft-water or shrimp tank without moving the parameters.

It is a root feed. Stem plants and epiphytes such as anubias and moss, which feed from the water column, get nothing from it.

Dosage & Directions

Push the balls into the substrate at the root zone of heavy root feeders — swords, crypts, aponogetons. ISTA rate one placement as feeding the plant for up to a year.

They release slowly, so there is nothing to gain by adding more sooner. Bury them properly: a fertiliser ball rolling loose on the substrate feeds algae rather than roots.

ISTA make this line in 10-ball, 20-ball and 50-ball packs (I-079, I-501 and I-080).

Keep the packaging and the item number until you are satisfied with it. ISTA parts are sold by item number, and having it to hand is what makes a replacement blade, ceramic or impeller easy to order.

Freshness & Storage

Every batch we dispatch carries a minimum of 6 months’ remaining shelf life. Store this product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap or inner foil closed tightly after each use.

Returns & Replacement

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Manufacturer-sealed items cannot be returned once the seal is broken, and sale-priced items are not refundable.

If your item arrives defective or damaged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number, or email us if you would rather, and we will replace it. Approved replacements are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. Transit damage is covered by insurance on every shipment. If tracking shows delivered but nothing reached you, tell us within 72 hours, which is the reporting window Indian couriers allow. Damage caused during installation or use is not covered; replacement spares for such cases are chargeable.
