The ISTA Hydrometer delivers precise salinity readings with a smooth-flow design that prevents bubble-related measurement errors.

Fill the chamber with tank water to the marked line, tap it once to shake off any bubbles clinging to the swing arm, and read where the pointer settles.
Bubbles on the arm are the main source of error in any swing-arm hydrometer — this one is shaped to shed them, but tapping it still helps. Rinse it in fresh water and dry it after every use; dried salt on the pivot is the second source of error.
Unlimited. A hydrometer is a reusable instrument, not a reagent kit — there is nothing in it to use up, and no refill to buy.
What it does need is rinsing in fresh water and drying after every use. Salt drying on the swing-arm pivot is what makes an old hydrometer read high.
The hydrometer body with its swing-arm pointer. Nothing else is required to use it.
